The visible wood grain in our Birch Prints gives your images a very distinct look. Images with high contrast between the light and dark areas intensify the effect when the image is printed on wood. We achieve this look using a modern 5-color printing process leaving the white inks out. The white areas of your photo, the high-quality wood remains visible, and in the color rich areas, the unique birch texture shines through to accentuate the presentation. The artwork is sealed with a satin finish eco-friendly UV coating for added protection.  Each panel arrives ready-to-hang complete with our inset 3/4” deep rear mounted frame and hardware. The hidden frame  floats the art off the wall giving it a weightless presentation.

Our Birch Prints are produced on premium grade 1/2” thick 3B plywood. The layered structure provides stability with an offset free edge. The birch face has consistent grain throughout and is made from single piece veneer.

Printing

We direct print your image straight onto the birch surface. In this state-of-the-art, 5-color printing process, we use UV fine art inks for a vibrant, satin finish print. The brighter parts of the image are not printed at all, meaning the natural birch remains visible and creates a show-through effect.

Border Options

For images with little or no show through we recommend adding borders to your artwork to accentuate the underlying substrate. For images with significant show through we suggest edge-to-edge printing.

Ink Options

  1. CMYK Print
    The brighter parts of the image are not printed at all, meaning the natural birch remains visible and creates a show-through effect. We achieve this look using our modern direct UV print process leaving out the white ink channel.
  2. White + CMYK Print
    We apply a flood or spot white ink layer below the CMYK print to eliminate show through and keep the white values in tact. Only a slight grain texture will be visible.

Hanging

Our standard UV Birch sizes offer the best value and turnaround. By using standard size materials, we can precut our sheet stock, maximize yields, and quickly assemble your order when it comes in. Turnaround time is faster since we can use off-the-shelf materials that don’t need custom preparation. Standard sizing minimizes waste of materials which means we can offer our best price. Please allow for a variance of up to 1/4” from the listed size.
